A very competitive claimer. The prolific FREMEN was turned over at odds-on at Carlisle last time but it is probably best to forgive him that effort. He comes out best on these terms and he could be the one to beat. Sunnyside Tom completed a hat-trick in claimers when scoring at Hamilton earlier this month and he rates an obvious danger with Fujin Dancer, Stonehaugh and Nevada Desert all potential players.
Fremen, Sunnyside Tom and Fujin Dancer all have very good records at this level and look the trio to concentrate on. There's a bit of competition for the lead and it could easily be set up for something coming from behind so hold-up performer Fujin Dancer is given the nod, despite being drawn in stall 1.

Better was expected of GOLDEN HINDE at Goodwood last month but he performed with credit nonetheless and might find this less demanding so is fancied to get off the mark. Dortmund should be capable of shedding his maiden status before long and he looks sure to give another good account of himself. He rates the main danger. Of the newcomers, Richard Fahey's Sir Byron and Paul Cole's Already Basking both make plenty of appeal on paper and command respect.
Already Basking and Sir Byron are a couple of newcomers worth noting in the betting, but Dortmund and Golden Hinde set a pretty useful standard and are probably the pair to focus on, with narrow preference for Godolphin's Dortmund.

A tight little nursery but a solid case can be made for BALLINARGH GIRL. She has not really progressed as expected since winning a Hamilton maiden over 5f last month but she has time on her side and can get her career back on track today. Volcanic Dust was a shade disappointing at Kempton last time but she has solid claims on the form of her Brighton success prior to that with Krypton Factor expected to get involved.
A nursery with a really trappy look to it, none of these obviously progressive, while quite a few have to put below-par efforts last time behind them. Major Muscari has the 1 stall to contend with but had soft ground as a viable excuse last time and had progressed well prior to that. He's given the nod, with Ballinargh Girl and First Class Favour also worth considering.

LEES ANTHEM got the better of the progressive Rio's Girl over 5f at Ayr earlier this week and a reproduction of that effort would give him a big chance here despite a 6lb penalty. Gower Sophia returned to form with a solid second at Ripon last time and she can reward each-way support once again while Amoureuse is running well at present and she should continue to give a good account of herself.
Tricky to say the least, with little separating the majority of these exposed 3-y-os. A high draw is often crucial in fields of this size here, though, so Amoureuse, Midget and Gower Sophia are the 3 against the field, with the last-named taken to shed her maiden tag at the 19th time of asking.

He was well below his best at Newmarket last time but the return to this track will suit and he can bounce back. George Adamson has gone from strength to strength this term and he should be on the premises while Old Hundred is open to improvement and rates an interesting contender.
Many will be willing to forgive Leader of The Land's latest effort, especially as he's 2-2 over C&D, but a better value option is Red Fama, who won this race in 2008 and appeared to be returning to form last time. Elite Land is also high on the shortlist.

It could pay to take a chance on Tim Easterby's NEPHELE. She has shown glimmers of ability in maidens over shorter trips and could be capable of better now stepping up to this trip on her handicap debut. Straversjoy has ability and is certainly capable of winning a race but she might prefer a stiffer test of stamina. Ella Grace has been disappointing thus far but it is too early to write her off. She completes the shortlist.
This represents a good opportunity for Akamon to get off the mark. Straversjoy is taken to chase her home, with handicap debutante Nephele another to consider.
